Some of these tricks worked for me, but many of them fell flat (my hair never looked as nice as the pictures when I ran a flatiron over braids). As part of her "Beauty Hack or Wack?" series, Nicole Skyes determines whether or not mascara can be used as liquid eyeliner.

To test the merits of the claims that mascara serves as a smudge-proof, waterproof, and long-lasting liquid eyeliner, Skyes runs an angled brush along a mascara wand and creates a wing.
